Quantitative ethnobotanical appraisal of medicinal plants used by indigenous communities of District Malakand, Pakistan

Background: Medicinal plants are the only possible solution to facilitate and treat different complications of human beings. The local residents District Malakand dependent on medicinal for their primary healthcare. aim this study was document associated traditional knowledge Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Methods: area frequently visited from March August in 2018-2019, during peak flowering season collection specimens semi-structured interviews uses plants. A total 150 participants selected randomly demographic information (age, gender) status conservation aggregated using a questionnaire collected each site. Informants were interviewed language (Pashto). Results: 62 ethno-medicinal plant species belonging 37 families recorded. considerable proportion used gastro-intestinal disorders. Relative Frequency Citation (RFC) ranged 0.48 0.3. highest RFC value registered Jasminum officinale 0.48. Similarly, UV (Use Value) range 0.92 0.35, with values Citrus medica (0.92), Lagenaria siceraria (0.55), Lycopersicum esculentum (0.5). Older 55-70 years age showed higher about plants, followed by group 45–55. Conclusion: In present study, some key importance i.e., medica, siceraria, esculentum, Lactuca sativa Brassica rapa.
